<h1 class="ql-align-desktop-center">About Carol</h1>﻿Carol Arscott is an internationally recognized, award-winning pet photographer based in Media, PA. Rescue is the cornerstone of Carol’s business. She has worked with more than a dozen organizations in the last nine years, volunteering her time to photograph the adoptable animals. She is now partnering with rescues throughout the United States to raise funds through photography projects. She also teaches photography classes and workshops, and offers one-on-one coaching. Carol has appeared on podcasts, in magazine articles, and was selected by 6 ABC as a Hometown Hero in 2023 for her rescue work. Carol received the Best of Delco award in 2022 and 2023, Best of Mainline in 2023 and 2024, and Best of Chester County in 2023. She earned a bronze medal in the International Pet Photographer of the Year competition in 2023. Carol has raised over $75,000 for rescues in the last two years.

<h2>Why hire a pet photographer?</h2> THEIR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE MAKES A DIFFERENCE Most family photographers will take a few photos of your pet if you bring them along to a session, but they specialize in people, not pets. A pet photographer is specifically trained in animal body language, posing, and editing techniques that bring out the best in your pet. They know how to work with untrained (and sometimes unruly) animals. A pet photographer will get the perfect image even when you think the session was completely chaotic. They know how to grab an animal's attention and capture that award-winning look.

<h2>What to Expect</h2>﻿Your session will be a fun playdate. Your pet will call the shots - whether they need time to sniff, have a snack, or take a potty break - we will go at their pace. If they are active, we'll do action shots. If they have a favorite toy, we'll incorporate it. And, of course, I always encourage the humans to jump in some of the photos. And don't worry if your dog can't be off leash. 99% of the dogs I photograph are leashed. Through the magic of Photoshop, I remove leashes and other distracting elements.

<h3>My dog can't be off leash like the dogs on your website. Does that mean I can't have a session?</h3> Nope! Most of the dogs you see were leashed during their entire session. In many cases the owner was standing right next to them. Through the magic of Photoshop, I remove leashes and people! <h3>My dog isn't trained/is anxious/is aggressive. does that mean I can't have a session?</h3> Nope! I have extensive experience with dogs of all training levels (or no training at all!) as well as dogs that are anxious, fearful, or aggressive. As a volunteer rescue photographer for 10 years, I've seen it all. We will have a consultation call before your session so we can discuss any special accommodations your dog may need. Your dog is charge of the session - when they need a break, a snack, a drink, or just some hugs, we stop until they are ready to resume. I give them time to adjust to the location and to me. I can also provide locations where we will not encounter other animals. <h3>I have a cat/bird/horse/other type of animal. does that mean I can't have a session?</h3> Nope! I work with ALL types of pets. I have photographed dogs, cats, birds, horses, pigs, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, ducks, cows and even a fish! I am up for the challenge!

If you're a crazy dog person like me, you probably also have birthday or Gotcha Day parties for them. Since childhood, I've always gotten my dog a cake with candles, gifts, and invited relatives to my dog's birthday party. We even sing Happy Birthday. It's just been in my living room, but I've always wanted to go bigger. MUCH BIGGER. That's why I'm offering indoor dog parties - so instead of just your relatives in your living room mocking you for throwing a dog party (or is that just my family??) you can invite your canine's besties for a fun, safe, off leash, indoor experience. No need to clean your house before or after. I can even provide the cake and goody bags. But wait, there's more! What if there were super fun activities at this party that will have all the dogs on the block talking about it for months?How about a pinata filled with tennis balls? And what if all of the doggy guests could paint their own canvas to take home with them? And what if each guest could get a professional photo to remember the day? And what if a dog trainer could do a mini lesson to teach a command or fun trick? If all this sounds way better than any human party you've ever been to, then let's talk! <h2 class="ql-align-desktop-center">4 Quick tips for Enriching Your dog's environment</h2> Boredom is the worst. When I’m bored, I find myself raiding the kitchen and mindlessly snacking. It’s not just us humans who fall into bad habits though. Dogs do too.&nbsp;&nbsp; One of the easiest ways to keep your dog blissfully busy is exercise. My two dogs love going for long hikes in the woods or having a game of chase in the yard.﻿While physical exercise is important for dogs, they also need to keep their minds busy! Here’s my quick tips to enrich your dog’s environment to help them stay mentally and physically active - and out of trouble.&nbsp;

Tip # 1: Have plenty of toys available Oreo loves squeaky stuffed animals and will bring them to anyone entering the house to entice them to play with her. Moby loves tennis balls and will toss them around all by himself if everyone else is busy.For a little back and forth, try tug toys. My two love a simple braided rope toy that my son made from felt pieces. Not a fan of craft projects? You can find a huge selection in your local pet supply store. You can grab one end and play tug with your dog, or If you’re lucky enough to have a multi-dog household, they can play together! There are few things cuter than two dogs playing! Tip #2: Try a game of hide and seek Families that play together, stay together! I make sure to spend time playing with Oreo and Moby every day. We get to practice cues, learn new commands, and build a stronger bond all under the guise of play time which is important because dogs like to have a purpose and use their minds. And your dog is happiest when they feel bonded to you. There are a couple ways we play – I hide and have them look for me. I have them sit and stay while I quickly hide (they won’t hold a stay for long without me) and then I call to them to come find me. If they have trouble, I make noises to give them extra clues. Other times, I hide treats around the house and they do a bit of scent work to find them. I started by only hiding them in one area of the living room, then expanded to the hallway, the stairs, etc. Now they can find treats hidden upstairs and downstairs. That’s their favorite game on hot or inclement weather days. Tip #3: TV time! While you don’t want to turn your pup into a couch potato, a little tv now and then won’t hurt! Oreo loves Little House on the Prairie. Every time it comes on, she’s enthralled. She particularly likes the episodes where Jack the dog makes an appearance. Her other favorite is <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thecatdaddy/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: rgb(166, 124, 124);">Jackson Galaxy’s</a> <a href="https://www.animalplanet.com/show/my-cat-from-hell-animal-planet-atve-us" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: rgb(166, 124, 124);">My Cat from Hell</a>. She seems to enjoy seeing cats get into trouble. Every dog is different so play around and see what your dog finds engaging. Tip #4 Show them the world! Open the curtains, shades, front door to give them an interesting view. Moby is a busy-body and loves to spy on the neighbors when they walk by, as he is tall enough to see out the window. Oreo is vertically challenged, so I let her out on the deck or leave the front door open so she can catch a view. Pro tip – be sure to look the storm door in case your dogs learn how to let themselves out! And don’t forget the felines! Cat is not much for toys, but she has her tree next to the dining room window and a small table next to the living room window where she can peer out. We also have a bird feeder that sticks to the outside of the window. As soon as daylight comes each day, she goes to the window and watches the birds enjoying their breakfast.

<h4>What is it?</h4>The Pets of Batter and Crumbs is a photography project in partnership with Carol Arscott Photography. This beautiful, full color coffee table book will feature images and stories of local pets, and the proceeds will go directly to Philly Paws.<h3> </h3><h4>How much does it cost?</h4>There is a $100 tax deductible session fee that will go directly to Philly PAWs. You will receive the special link to make the payment once you schedule your session. <h4>What if my pet is not a dog or cat?</h4>ALL pets are welcome to participate! Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs - if they're a pet, they qualify! <h4>When will the book be released?</h4>The book will be released in early December 2026. <h4>WhAT IF I HAVE MULTIPLE PETS?
